The Real Ghostbusters. Even before I started officially collecting cartoons, I had these on tape from when they originally aired. I was so taken with the style of the series that I watched it religiously. I remember when they used to be on every day of the week, and when two different episodes were shown at the same time on different channels, I never knew which one to tape until they already started. I tell you, life is a bitch. Strangely, the quality of animation varies a lot from season to season. Some good, some bad, some just…different.

THE THEME: The series begins where the first Ghostbusters movie left off. Episodes were consistently well written (many by Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straszinsky). Added to the mix of Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, Winston Zeddemore, and Janine Melnitz, was the indispensible funny-voiced cartoon mascot, Slimer.

The series premiered on September 13, 1986 on ABC.

THE EPISODES. I have all of them except for the ones in blue. Some were taped directly from the tube when they first aired, and have lackluster reception. Many of them were taped off recent airings on Teletoon and are in exquisite condition. The ones in gold are episodes that I have but would like to get better copies of. 

I've gone ahead and made some notations...don't be scared. First is a * rating out of **** which is just personal preference, then comes speed (SP or EP) and then quality of the recording (poor, fair, good, very good, excellent/perfect). I haven't gotten around to making these notes for each episode, so cool it, Jack.
