Superfriends. What do I like about Superfriends? Seeing my old friends from DC Comics beating the crap out of each other. Nevermind that they're all consistently portrayed as idiots. Although I don't care for them personally, I can see the function that the Wonder Twins served in this series. If I were in charge, I would have thrown in Red Tornado and Martian Manhunter into the mix. Imagine the possibilities! Additionally, Hawkman and Hawkwoman were robbed of the character development that was given to the made-for-tv superheroes Apache Chief (Native American stereotype), Samurai (Japanese stereotype), and Black Vulcan (negro stereotype), and I'm pretty bitter about that.
THE THEME: In the early seasons, the Justice League of America spent a lot of time battling alien threats and various mad scientists. Later (Challenge of the Superfriends), they came up against the clearly defined opposition of The Legion of Doom, who were all very evil in a 1970's kinda way. A few years later Darkseid entered the picture, which is cool in theory, but he turned out to be just as much an incompetent bungler as the L.o.D. If a 14 year old can see the gaping holes in his plans, you know there's still a decent market for evil geniuses.

The All-New Superfriends Hour: After a lackluster start, the Super Friends were revived in a new one hour show called The All-New Superfriends Hour which featured four separate stories: one featuring a team-up between two of the Super Friends, one featuring the WonderTwins (alien teenagers who replaced Wendy and Marvin), a full-length story featuring all the Super Friends, and one story featuring one Super Friend and a guest hero. The Legendary Super-Powers Show: After an absence of four years, the Superfriends return in a show that pits them against the evil minions of Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips.
